Tennis icon Maria Sharapova recently treated her fans to hilarious dance moves while on a romantic getaway in Venice with her fiance, Alexander Gilkes. The couple's trip showcased the beauty of Venice and Sharapova's humorous side.
With its enchanting canals and historic charm, Venice provided the perfect backdrop for Sharapova and Gilkes’ romantic escapade. The couple, who have been in the public eye since 2018 and got engaged in December 2020, are also proud parents to their son, Theodore, born in July 2022.
On December 16, Sharapova took to Instagram to share a montage of videos and photos that captured their enchanting boat ride across the Venetian Lagoon and their indulgence in authentic Venetian cuisine at the Acquastanca in Murano.
"Tis the season to be in... Venice," Sharapova captioned her first Instagram story.
In a complementary artistic endeavor, Gilkes posted a video on his social media, creatively edited to make it appear as though he and Sharapova were floating through the Palazzo Grimani. Set to David Bowie’s iconic “Space Oddity” (2015 Remaster), the video was a visual treat that showcased Gilkes' artistic talent.
"Lift off at @toto_bergamo_rossi's spectacular renovation of Venice's Palazzo Grimani #Venice," Gilkes wrote.
Not to be outdone, Sharapova responded with her spirited video, where she showed off her quirky dance moves to Lipps Inc.’s classic tune "Funkytown."
"Alexander's version of Venice"; "And my version," Sharapova captioned both of her Instagram stories.
