Martina Navratilova slammed U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy as the Republican sat for an oversight hearing before the Senate Homeland Security Committee.

DeJoy, 67, is the 75th United States Postmaster General. He assumed office in June 2020 and has worked under Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

Recently, the United States Postal Service (USPS) has come under criticism due to delayed deliveries all across the nation. During his oversight hearing, DeJoy was slammed by United States Senator from Georgia, Jon Ossoff.

"Has your tenure as Postmaster General been a success?" Sen. Ossoff asked DeJoy.

The 67-year-old, in response, addressed the senator's public disapproval of his leadership.

"Senator I know how you feel about me.. you’ve been quite public ok… So I’m not going to debate that you think I’m a failure. Fine— I don’t."

However, Ossoff continued his criticism of DeJoy's service as Georgia has suffered due to delays from the USPS.

"(This is) about whether or not seniors in Georgia are receiving prescriptions,” he said. “It’s small businesses that are not able to get products to market. … It’s death notices not delivered to family members and you're sitting here trying to explain that 75% on-time delivery is a success."

A video of Sen. Ossoff criticizing DeJoy was shared on X and Martina Navratilova, who regularly does political commentary on her social media, reshared it and wrote:

"Still can’t believe Biden left this asswipe Dejoy running the Post Office"

Although Navratilova claimed Biden was at fault, she was informed in the comments of the post that the President lacks the power to hire or fire the Postmaster General.

In a tragic incident at Feather River Adventist School in Palermo, California, a gunman critically wounded two boys, aged 5 and 6, before allegedly taking his own life. Authorities believe the shooter may have targeted the K-8 school due to its Seventh-day Adventist Church affiliation.

The attack occurred shortly after a meeting with the principal about enrolling a student, which authorities suspect could have been a ruse. The victims remain in critical condition, and the investigation continues.

The news about this case was shared on X and Martina Navratilova reacted to it by stating:

"Sickening. Hoping the kids will be ok…"

Navratilova has previously advocated for stricter gun laws in the USA. The tennis legend has cited Europe as safer and stated that gun laws work.
