Martina Navratilova delivers scathing verdict on Donald Trump and his supporters after President-elect envisions himself as Moses

Martina Navratilova, an 18-time Grand Slam singles champion, severely criticized Donald Trump and his supporters. The President-elect recently shared an article with a cover picture depicting him as the Judaic prophet Moses.

Martina, who has been vocal in her distaste for Trump and his policies, responded to a post by self-identified liberal Travis Matthew. “When you exalt a man who portrays himself as Moses, you are in a f**king cult, ”Matthew wrote.

Navratilova then chimed in, claiming that millions of Trump's 'Make America Great Again' adherents are in a cult.

"Beware of people who have simple solutions to complex issues - as in I ALONE CAN FIX IT," the tennis legend advised. "Yes, it’s a cult for millions. Not all, but many millions," Martina Navratilova noted.

The article titled 'America’s Political Tradition Comes From The Constitution: The Trump Mandate Calls For A Restoration Of Its Original Meaning And Preeminence' has been authored by conservative commentator Paul Ingrassia.

Trump won this year's presidential election in the US, beating his Democrat rival Kamala Harris. The Republican secured 312 electoral college votes, easily surpassing the 270 votes required to win the polls. Notably, he also notched up more popular votes (over 77 million against Harris' 74 million+), marking the first time a Republican presidential candidate had received more votes than a Democrat in over two decades. In the previous election, Trump was defeated by Joe Biden, who received over 81 million votes, the most in a US election.

Martina Navratilova supports the Democrat party and endorsed Kamala Harris for president. At the same time, she has fiercely criticized Trump and his policies, particularly his stance on abortion rights.

In recent months, Navratilova has also turned critical of the world's richest man Elon Musk, whose purchase of X in 2022 for $44 billion has been cited as instrumental in Trump's successful election bid. Musk openly endorsed Trump and was a featured speaker at some of the Republican pre-election rallies.

“Elon has rigged the system in a big way," Navratilova commented after the election results.

Buying Twitter was his best investment ever, she claimed. Reacting to a post on the ouster of Syrian ruler Bashar al-Assad by rebels on Sunday, Navratilova commented,

"We just elected one wannabe dictator."

Martina Navratilova had previously labeled the former Syrian president a "dictator."
