Martina Navratilova shared a sharp four-word reaction to Donald Trump’s new order on the refugee ban, which threatens the safety of people in Afghanistan. Since retiring, Navratilova has been vocal about political and social issues, frequently sharing her views.

On Monday, January 20, at the Capitol Rotunda, Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, reaffirming his sweeping promise to "make America great again." With his political comeback now complete, his second term is expected to be defined by bold executive actions, conservative-driven policies, and a determined effort to dismantle the legacy of the previous administration.

On Monday, President Trump signed an executive order titled “Realigning the United States Refugee Admissions Program,” which suspended refugee admissions to the United States. The move has jeopardized the safety of thousands of Afghan citizens who aided the Americans during the war.

Shawn VanDiver, president of AfghanEvac, called the order "another broken promise" by the United States. He highlighted that it would not only impact scores of Afghans currently in hiding from the Taliban's oppressive rule but also the family members of active-duty U.S. troops.

On Tuesday, January 21, Martina Navratilova reshared an X (formerly Twitter) post about the mentioned order and reacted with four powerful words, calling the strategy "evil."

"Evil is exactly right," she penned down.

Martina Navratilova had ruled out any plans to enter politics. Speaking on an episode of the On with Kara Swisher podcast two years ago, she was asked if she intended to step into active politics in the near future, given her outspoken criticism of the Republican government over the years.

Navratilova dismissed the idea, explaining that she felt she was too honest and outspoken as a woman to be a successful politician. She said:

"I’ve been asked many times. But I think truth doesn’t work in politics you know I speak my mind way too much. I think maybe as a guy you can get away with it but as a woman”

The 68-year-old joked that she would have considered running for office if she were 20 years younger. Navratilova remarked:

“I think I am too old for that. 20 years ago, I wish I…, if I was 20 years younger I would run. But I don’t have the energy for it now..”
