Martina Navratilova gives one-word reaction after research suggests transgender issues was a big reason for Kamala Harris' loss to Donald Trump

Martina Navratilova recently reacted to a claim which discussed that the reason Kamala Harris lost to Donald Trump in the 2024 US Presidential elections could be due to the Democrat's bad policies like their stand on men in women's sports. The American tennis star is a huge advocate for keeping women's sports fair and has often expressed her dismay at male transgenders competing against women.

A user on X (formerly Twitter) shared that the top reason among swing voters was that Harris was more focused on 'cultural issues', such as the transgender issues, than the problems of the middle class.

Another user shared this data and mentioned how they could never understand why the Democrats went all out for questionable policies such as allowing men to compete in women's sports.

"Never understood why the Democrats so enthusiastically championed objectively bad policies (men in women’s sports - yay!) that also put them out of step with the voters who take a much more sensible position on these issues than them," the user wrote.

Martina Navratilova pondered over the sentiment of the user and gave a one-word reaction to it which seemingly showed that she agreed.

"hmm," the American wrote.

Navratilova had also urged the Democrats to 'get behind' a declaration that discussed how the Kamala Harris party could have changed ways of women's rights.

Martina Navratilova has often expressed her dismay with male transgenders competing in women's sports since it gave them an unfair advantage.

A page on X shared a declaration that discussed how the Democrats (still in power) could make changes in some women's rights. The declaration discussed several aspects that would change the lives of women for the better including the exclusion of transgender athletes in women's sports.

Navratilova shared this declaration on her page and urged the Democrats to get behind this.

"Dems need to get behind this. And fast," she wrote.

One fan said how the Republican's 'rejection' of gender ideology was transphobia and also pointed out how they didn't care about women under the tennis legend's tweet. The fan also said how the Democrats needed to protect trans people but keep things fair for women.

"Yes. The GOP “rejection” gender ideology is nothing but transphobia. They don’t care about kids, whether they’re gender questioning or gay, they sure don’t care about women. Dems need to avow protect for trans people while ensuring fairness for women," the user said.

Navratilova shared her agreement with the fan.

"Exactly what I have been saying for years, it can be done," the 68-year-old said.
