Martina Navratilova slammed the president of the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletics Association) Charles Baker for continuing the inclusion of biological men in the realm of women's sports. Baker was recently engaged in a discussion with Senator Josh Hawley where the latter called the former out allowing biological men to compete in women's sports, use their locker rooms, and other issues.
In a recent exchange on Title IX, the federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on sex, Hawley engaged in a heated discussion over the aforementioned issue. At one point, Hawley explicitly questioned:
"No federal court has ordered the NCAA to include biological men in women's sports, right? There's not a single case that has ordered the NCAA to do so, correct?"
To which Baker responded:
"That's pretty much what they decided."
"Don't say pretty much. We're talking about the law here," Hawley said.
Later Hawley went to X to state how Baker wasn't ready to take any responsibility for this sensitive issue.
"Listen to NCAA President Charlie Baker hem and haw and blame everyone from courts to “the locals” for HIS policy allowing men in women’s sports. It’s indefensible - and he knows it."
A journalist named Leor Sapir retweeted the post and discussed the poor state of things, saying:
"I've heard this many times from teachers, parents, and even one school administrator who told me that any time school board members and school administrators are confronted over bathroom/sports/parental notification policies, the response is not to defend these policies on substance but to deflect. 'I have no choice.' 'My hands are tied.' 'We can't afford a lawsuit,'" Sapir wrote.
Martina Navratilova expressed her opinion on the situation.
"It is infuriating. Actual women don’t matter to these bureaucrats."
In another tweet, she lashed out at Baker:
"Baker is pathetic. He knows he is wrong, hence the convoluted answers."
Interestingly, Navratilova has expressed her disappointment with Baker's appointment as the NCAA president in 2022.

Around two years back, when it was announced that former Massachusetts Governor Charles Baker would become the next NCAA president, an account on X sarcastically said:
"Big surprise: the next NCAA president is an older white male Republican."
Navratilova also expressed her lack of excitement with the news:
"What else is new?" she wrote.
Martina Navratilova's disdain over the inclusion of transgender athletes in women's sports is no secret. She has repeatedly spoken up about the issue with the goal of creating a level playing field for female athletes.
