Martina Navratilova has shared her thoughts on Donald Trump's unsuccessful appeal to overturn a court ruling that found him liable for sexually abusing writer E. Jean Carroll in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s. Navratilova, who has been a vocal critic of the President-elect, used the opportunity to issue a stern warning to Trump.
In 2023, a Manhattan jury determined that Donald Trump was responsible for sexually abusing and defaming E. Jean Carroll, awarding her $5 million in damages. The President-elect's lawyers filed an appeal, arguing that the district court had erred by allowing testimony from other accusers of Trump, but the appeals court upheld the judgment, denying him a new trial.
Martina Navratilova, who has previously denounced Donald Trump as a "rapist," emphasized that it was time for the President-elect to pay E. Jean Carroll what she was owed.
"Time to pay up, donnie," Navratilova posted on X.
Donald Trump also earned the former World No. 1's ire during his 2024 US presidential election campaign when he called himself the "protector" of women and asserted that the "fake news kept saying women don’t like him."
"Because I am your protector. I want to be your protector. As president, I have to be your protector. I hope you don’t make too much of it. As president, I have to be your protector," Trump said
However, Navratilova refuted his claims, emphasizing that women were capable of protecting themselves if men like Trump refrained from physically attacking them.
"Exactly- we women need to be left the heck alone- we can protect ourselves just fine if so many men like you just stop attacking us, most of all physically. The emotional abuse we can deal with just fine without your help, donold….," Martina Navratilova wrote.
"Utter psychopath" - Martina Navratilova lashes out at Donald Trump over his 'hateful' Christmas message
Martina Navratilova was unimpressed with Donald Trump's Christmas message on Truth Social, in which the President-elect attacked the "Radical Left Lunatics" and referred to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as the "governor" of Canada.
The 18-time Grand Slam champion denounced Trump's message for being "full of hate" and called the President-elect an "utter psychopath."
"Right? I mean his Christmas message is so full of hate. trump is an utter psychopath," she posted on X.
Navratilova also referred to Donald Trump as an "idiot" after the President-elect expressed astonishment at the number of countries in the world, boasting about having "spoken to over 100 countries" that congratulated him on his election win.
