Martina Navratilova lashed out at a person, who was seen defending future American president Donald Trump and Elon Musk. The controversy erupted when former United States representative Adam Kinzinger called Musk as the president and Trump as the vice-president.
Trump asked Republicans to reject a stopgap bill, which will keep the Government funded past the end of the week and has asked for the debt ceiling to be raised. Musk, who is a huge Trump supporter, also pressured Congress to reject the bill saying that those who backed the bill should be voted out of office.
Former Republican Adam Kizinger, on CNN, called Musk the president and Trump the vice-president, seemingly implying that Musk was pulling the strings behind the scenes.
"President Musk this morning made it clear - with all his vast government experience, which is basically, he became rich on the federal government - that he doesn't want Republicans to pass this."
"Vice President Trump kind of backed him up at that point. [...] This is gonna be a messy 4 years."
A user on X was disappointed that people didn't understand that Donald Trump and Elon Musk want the nation to prosper.
"This kind of statement highlights just how little these people think of Americans. They cannot fathom that Trump and Musk both care about what the people of this country want because all people like Kinzinger care about is what benefits them."
Martina Navratilova, who has vehemently opposed Trump and Musk on many occasions, questioned the user:
"And how does shutting down the government benefit ANYONE?"
The Government is set to begin a partial shutdown on Saturday if there is no action from Congress since they will run out of funds.
"Donald Trump is nothing but a liar, bully and braggart" - Martina Navratilova called out the future president for going back on his word
Donald Trump had said in October that he would bring the grocery prices down, however, after being elected, he went back on his word.
"Look, they got them up. I’d like to bring them down. It’s hard to bring things down once they’re up. You know, it’s very hard," Trump told Time magazine.
Looking at him reneging, Martina Navratilova said:
"Well, if they weren’t up, you wouldn’t need to bring them down. What an utterly idiotic statement by trump. He is nothing but a liar , bully and braggart. And that is just a small nicer part of who he is."
Expressing her thoughts on the above-mentioned crisis, Navratilova also dubbed Trump a 'lying liar'.
