Martina Navratilova reacted to New York Jets' Aaron Rodgers getting flagged for unnecessary roughness in their 14-40 loss against the Buffalo Bills. The four-time NFL MVP, however, believes he should not have been penalized.
A video of Rodgers being flagged in the third quarter of the match against the Bills was shared on X. A user reshared the video and wrote:
"I’ve been too busy for much football this year and I regret not having more time to watch @AaronRodgers12 flail and sputter."
American tennis legend Martina Navratilova reshared the comments and added two emojis:
"😳🫢"
The Buffalo Bills secured a decisive 40-14 victory over their divisional rivals, the New York Jets, on Sunday, cementing their position as the second seed in the AFC playoffs. The Jets, third in the AFC East, struggled throughout the game, with Aaron Rodgers and his team falling short against a dominant Bills performance.
Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, had a particularly rough outing, throwing two interceptions, including a costly one in the third quarter. Trailing 12-0, Rodgers aimed for Allen Lazard with a deep pass but was intercepted by cornerback Christian Benford.
As Benford returned the ball, Rodgers chased him down and shoved him on the sideline, drawing a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness. The penalty set up a Bills touchdown drive.
During the postgame press conference, Rodgers addressed the incident. When asked if frustration had driven his actions, he denied it, stating:
"I don't think I pushed him very hard. I was just chasing down the play."
Rodgers was benched with the Jets trailing 40-0, replaced by backup QB Tyrod Taylor, who led the team to a late surge of 14 points. Despite Taylor’s efforts, the Jets could not overcome the Bills' commanding lead.
Martina Navratilova called Aaron Rodgers a "loser" reacting to news about him pushing "conspiracy theories"
In March, CNN reported that NFL star Aaron Rodgers once shared "conspiracy theories" about the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting with CNN journalist Pamela Brown.
During a chance meeting at the 2013 Kentucky Derby, Rodgers criticized the media and claimed the tragic event, where 20 children and six adults were killed, was a government inside job, citing widely debunked theories.
Tennis legend Martina Navratilova weighed in on X, writing:
"What a loser… 🤡😳"
Brown recalled finding the encounter "disturbing" as Rodgers pushed allegedly false narratives.
