Martina Navratilova reshared a social media post made by a journalist, who created a parody of the TIME Person of the Year Award by morphing it into 'Rapist of the Year Award' for Donald Trump. Martina Navratilova is very active on social media and frequently voices her opinions on various matters.
Donald Trump won the 2024 US elections held in November this year and is set to take up the Presidential role on January 20, 2025. Navratilova has frequently expressed her criticism of the President-elect via social media.
Amid Donald Trump being named the Person of the Year by TIME magazine in 2024, several people online expressed their criticism, with some highlighting controversies surrounding him. Various public figures have reportedly accused Trump of inappropriate behavior, and as per a report from Guardian published in October, there are over 20 rape allegations against Trump.
In light of the same, a journalist, Betty Bowers posted a parody of the award on her X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, December 16. Shortly after, Martina Navratilova reposted the post on her feed.

Last month, Navratilova reacted to a Republican's claims on Donald Trump 'restoring' Title IX, which is an American civil rights law.

On Friday, November 29, Republican Nan Hayworth lauded Donald Trump via her X (formerly Twitter) handle, claiming that he would restore Title IX. Title IX is a federal civil right that forbids sex-based discrimination in the fields that receive Federal financial backing.
"President Trump will restore Title IX protections for girls and women in his Administration. Happy Thanksgiving to all--including the folks who didn't support @realDonaldTrump but who will rejoice at his wise and just policies as they are implemented!!"
Hayworth also attached an old post made by Martina Navratilova, wherein she had praised the Boise State volleyball team for refusing to play against a team that had an alleged transgender athlete.
"It stinks that these athletes, in order to stand up for themselves, have to give up playing. Brava girls- proud of you," she had written.
The 18-time Grand Slam winner voiced her disapproval of Hayworth's claims. Seemingly alluding to the sexual allegations against Donald Trump, Navratilova wrote:
"Sure, the rapist will protect women, yup."
During her storied career that spanned over three decades, Navratilova won a record 59 Grand Slam titles, which included 18 singles titles, and 31 doubles titles.
