Martina Navratilova has criticized Donald Trump, emphasizing his history of sexual abuse while defending her decision to vote for Democrats. The tennis legend, known for her outspoken critiques of Trump and his policies, referred to him as a "rapist" in her latest remarks.
Navratilova initially took to X and shared an article from the Washington Examiner supporting legislation by Representative Nancy Mace aimed at protecting female-only spaces. Anticipating criticism for sharing a piece from a conservative outlet, she clarified that mainstream liberal outlets would not publish such arguments.
This led to a heated exchange where a user accused her of supporting Republican ideologies and asked her to "vote the right way no matter what the color." Navratilova responded by rejecting Trump due to his history of sexual misconduct.
"I won’t vote for a rapist- why do you?" she asked.
The commenter countered with claims about Democrat Presidents Joe Biden and Bill Clinton’s alleged sexual misconduct. They also argued that voting blue harmed the cause of women. Navratilova, however, stood firm. She reiterated Trump’s status as an "adjudicated rapist" and pointed out his infamous remarks.
"Trump is an adjudicated rapist and he bragged about grabbing women by their private parts. Fauci saved lives- try again," Martina Navratilova wrote.
Notably, in May 2023, in a split verdict, a jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation in a civil case brought by E. Jean Carroll. The journalist was awarded $5 million in damages.
Additionally, the infamous 2005 "Access Hollywood" tape captured Trump making lewd comments about women.
"When you’re a star, they’ll let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the p***y. You can do anything," he had stated.
Martina Navratilova labels Donald Trump 'evil' following his comments about Joe Biden on January 6
After winning the 2024 US presidential election in November, Donald Trump recently accused current President Joe Biden of obstructing the transition of power.
"Biden is doing everything possible to make the TRANSITION as difficult as as possible, from Lawfare such as has never been seen before, to costly and ridiculous Executive Orders on the Green New Scam and other money wasting Hoaxes. Fear not, these “Orders” will all be terminated shortly, and we will become a Nation of Common Sense and Strength. MAGA!!!" Trump posted.
The post drew sharp criticism, notably from American film executive Franklin Leonard, who highlighted the irony of Trump’s complaint about the transfer of power on January 6—the anniversary of the 2021 Capitol riots.
"Posting this on January 6 is just... man, what a world," Leonard posted.
Martina Navratilova endorsed Leonard's criticism, condemning Trump as "evil."
"He is evil," Navratilova wrote.
On January 20, Donald Trump will assume office as the 47th President of the United States, beginning his second term.
