Nigerian athlete Chioma Onyekwere spotted Serena Williams hanging out at the 2024 Paris Olympics village. The field athlete was delighted to see her 'idol' and the American made her day by clicking a picture with her.
Williams has been in Paris since the Opening Ceremony of the marquee sports event as she was one of the torch bearers during the Olympic Torch Relay. The tennis legend has since been spotted enjoying some of the events at the Games and hanging out in the Olympic Village.
Nigerian discus thrower Onyekwere spotted Williams at the Village and posted a video about it on her Instagram Story. While recording Williams and her daughter Olympia in the background, she said:
"Guys I'm wearing Wyn Beauty and Serena is right there! And Olympia! Crazy, crazy stuff happening in the village."
Wyn Beauty is a makeup brand launched by Williams in partnership with The Good Glamm Group. The 30-year-old athlete captioned the Story:
"Meeting your idol in real life is surreal"
In her next Instagram Story, Onyekwere posted an image of her with Williams and captioned it:
"My heart is so full!!"
Williams reposted Onyekwere's first Instagram Story on her account.
Onyekwere is a US-born Nigerian athlete. She is a 2022 Commonwealth Games gold medalist and will be participating in the discus throw event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Serena Williams and daughter Olympia were present in the arena during the women's gymnastics final on Tuesday, July 30. The American took to her Instagram Story to share a few glimpses of the duo enjoying the event.
In one of the videos, Williams talked about how she forgot to capture US gymnasts Simone Biles and Suni Lee.
"We're at the gymnastics having a good time, yay. I keep forgetting to film Simone and Suni and everybody because it's like crazy," Williams said.
Olympia was captured eating chocolate alongside her mother as the US women's gymnastics team including Jordan Chiles, Hezly Rivera, Simone Biles, Jade Carey, and Suni Lee won gold.
Several other celebrities watched Biles and Co. create history including former US swimmer Michael Phelps, former Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci, Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman, and Biles' husband, NFL player, Jonathan Owens.
