J.K. Rowling has lashed out at an X user for making fake comments about the Harry Potter author's views on the legitimacy of Serena Williams' illustrious career. The "satire" page on X going by the name Politico For You boasts a following of 32,000.

It posted Rowling's views on the legitimacy of Williams' triumphs in a now-deleted post:

"Children's author JK Rowling questions the legitimacy of Serena Williams' Grand Slam victories and Olympic medals - 'Let's just say I have my doubts.'"

Rowling was left fuming:

"Could someone who isn’t blocked by the misogynistic, cowardly pricks at @PoliticoForYou share this with them?"

Rowling also added one of her old tweets from 2015 in which she applauded Williams after the American won Wimbledon.

"#SerenaSlam! I love her. What an athlete, what a role model, what a woman!" it read.

Rowling added in another tweet:

"The misogynistic, cowardly pricks of @PoliticoForYou have deleted their post, confirming that, while they are indeed cowardly pricks, they're not quite as dumb as they may appear."

Williams was the reigning champion at all the Majors in 2015.

After she celebrated Serena Williams' 2015 'Serena Slam', a user replied to J.K. Rowling's tweet saying:

"Ironic then that main reason for her success is that she is built like a man."

The author of Harry Potter defended Williams in response with some pictures of the American in a red dress:

"'She is built like a man'. Yeah, my husband looks just like this in a dress. You're an idiot."

Rowling is active on social media and often expresses her views on various topics. She is often backed by American tennis legend Martina Navratilova, who has similar views. The two met up for the first time in July 2024 and Navratilova referred to Rowling as the 'Queen'.
