Martina Navratilova spoke on Germany's self-identification law

Martina Navratilova lashed out at a new law in Germany that will allow trans-identified male convicts to women's prisons, slated to come into force from November 1, 2024. Among the "self-identified" women will be sex offenders and pedophiles, among others, prompting critics like Navratilova to point it as 'misogyny'.

Martina Navratilova has been vocal against the inclusion of transgender women in women's sports. She became a leader of the Women's Sports Policy Working Group in 2021, rallying against US President Joe Biden's Executive Order 13988 mandate that prevented discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The group aimed to save women in competitive sports.

Recently, the 67-year-old was also against the participation of Algerian boxer Imane Khelif in the Paris Olympics for her controversial gender test results. Shortly after, Martina Navratilova called Germany out for the introduction of a self-identification law that would transfer trans-identified male convicts to women's prisons.

Among them, there may be serious sex offenders and pedophiles, according to an X post by Reddux.

She opined that the law is 'misogyny is plain sight' rather than inclusion of any kind.

"This is not inclusion- this is misogyny hiding in plain sight"

She echoed the sentiments of another X user, who believes that self-identification acts as a 'lethal weapon against girls and women'.

"Germany opens the doors wide to the mutilating, deadly, perverse, misogynistic and homophobic gender ideology. Self-determination is ultimately a lethal weapon against girls and women," the caption read.

The German Parliament passed the sex-determination policies (allegedly one of the world's most far-reaching) on April 12 but will be in effect from November 1, 2024.

The 67-year-old 18-time major singles champion talked about facing backlash on social media for her controversial 'cheats' comment. Despite being at the mouth of hateful comments from transgender activists, Navratilova expressed that she is on the 'right side of history'.

“I’ve been speaking my mind for a long time. I’m not going to change that. Yes, it’s been pretty rough. “But I know I’m on the right side of history. Women are asked to be kind and be inclusive, yet by including transgender-identified males in women’s sports, you’re excluding women," she said. (via The Telegraph)

Martina Navratilova also spoke against the participation of transgender Paralympic athlete, Valentina Petrillo, and called her a 'pathetic cheater'.
