World No. 28 Jan Lennard-Struff captured his first title on the ATP tour in the BMW Open 2024. He outfoxed the third seed Taylor Fritz in the finals with a scoreline of 7-5, 6-3, and claimed a healthy pay-cheque worth £88,125 pounds.

While Fritz made light work of Christian Garin in the semifinals, Struff stunned the defending champion Holger Rune to enter the finals. He defeated the Dane in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0, and ended his 11-match win streak at the BMW Open in Munich.

The clay court event distributed £579,320 in prize money to the players featured at the event. While Struff bagged £88,125 after clinching the trophy, Fritz took home £51,400 after securing a runner-up finish. The American also chalked up 165 points in the ATP rankings thanks to his solid performance in the BMW Open.

Meanwhile, semifinalists Holger Rune and Christian Garin claimed £30,220 pounds for their semifinal finish in the event. Fifth seed Felix Auger Aliassime and sixth seed Jack Draper were handed £17,510 for their quarterfinal appearance along with the other two players who were out at that stage.

German locals Yannick Hanfman and Rudolf Molleker failed to make an impact and amassed a second-round exit in the BMW Open. They received 25 points in the ATP rankings and £10,165 in prize money.

While there are no ranking points to avail for players who registered a first-round exit, they will still be handed a pay-cheque worth £6,215. Former World No. 3 Dominic Thiem, Alexander Shevchenko, and Francesco Passaro were among those who exited the event in the first round.

Former World No. 21 Jan-Lennard Struff will have the opportunity to win the men's doubles title in the BMW Open 2024, alongside Andreas Mies.

Struff and Mies will take on the Indo-French pair of Yuki Bhambri and Albano Olivetti in the finals on April 21.

While the Germans got the better of Victor Vlad Cornea / Théo Arribagé in the semifinals, Bhambri and Olivetti outlasted Alexander Erier / Lucas Miedler in the last four. They defeated the Austrian pair in a close three-set match 6-1, 6-7(5), 10-7.

Struff has the chance to complete the double in Munich having already claimed the singles crown against Taylor Fritz earlier.
