Former doubles World No. 1 Pam Shriver recently bemoaned about not having a decent choice of candidates during the 2024 US presidential election. The first of the two presidential debates between Republican candidate Donald Trump and incumbent president and Democratic candidate Joe Biden happened on June 27.

Shriver issued a strong reaction to the presidential debate and talked about the lack of any good options. She recalled the presidential candidates when she was young were Jimmy Carter and Ronald Regan, which according to her were respectable choices.

The former doubles World No. 1 lamented a lack of choices this time as her children get ready to cast their vote for the first time. Shriver wrote on X (formerly Twitter):

"The year I turned 18 and could vote for President for the 1st time, my choices were Carter or Reagan, two respectable choices. My 3 kids are all able to vote for President for the 1st time in this year’s election, and they feel they have NO OPTIONS! My kids are correct. 😡"

Shriver echoed Americans' sentiment as the US presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump left them unimpressed. Both the presidential hopefuls launched personal attacks on each other, as Biden took full advantage of Trump's being a convicted felon while Trump called Biden a 'Manchurian candidate' who 'was paid by China'.
