WTA star Naomi Osaka took a moment to flaunt the details of her on-court outfit at the 2025 Australian Open. Known for her style and dominance on the courts, she has been in association with global brand Nike since 2019, the same year she kicked off her season by clinching the Australian Open title.
The Japanese player's Grand Slam outfits always tend to be a major highlight for the fans. The AO 2025 outfit is a black colored set with a combination of sunflowers. However, none of these elements come without a meaning.
Osaka shared a post from Hana Kuma on her Instagram story. Showcasing the blooming sunflowers paired with her quirky black outfit, the post revealed how Osaka's connection with Jacmel, Haiti, inspired the outfit.
"I told you ['Haitian flag' emoji] always with me," she wrote.
Osaka's love for Haiti comes from her father Leonard Francois' origin. Besides showcasing her love for the country, the WTA star has also made philanthropic efforts there. Her parents also laid the foundation of a tennis academy for young enthusiasts in Haiti.
