Naomi Osaka brought some Christmas cheer this week for Olympic medalist Jordan Chiles, with custom Nike sweatshirts. Chiles unboxed the gift and thanked the four-time Grand Slam champion for the gesture.

Chiles is an artistic gymnast and was a part of the USA's silver medal-winning team at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. She was also a member of the USA's gold-winning team at the Paris Olympics this year.

Chiles took to Instagram to share a story that contained pictures and short clips of 15 of her Christmas presents. In one of the clips, Chiles opened a box containing two Nike-Naomi Osaka knit jumpers and a personal note from Osaka. She expressed her gratitude to the 2-time US Open champion.

Osaka acknowledged Chiles' sentiments as she shared the story, adding heart emojis to the post.

Last month, Chiles announced that her memoir "I'm that Girl" will be released in March 2025. The book outlines Chiles' career and struggles with issues, including eating disorders and facing racism. Much like Osaka, Chiles is also an advocate for athletes' mental wellness.

Naomi Osaka lifted her first Grand Slam trophy at the 2018 US Open and backed it up soon after with the 2019 Australian Open. The victories made the Japanese-American the first player of Asian descent to win a Grand Slam, two successive Major singles titles, and to hold the World No. 1 ranking. Osaka later added the 2020 US Open and the 2021 Australian Open trophies to her mantle.

In an interview with The Player's Tribune, Olympian Jordan Chiles spoke about athletes paving the way for young talents. She included Osaka along with Serena Williams and Simone Biles in her list of trailblazers. She said,

"It's black girl magic, that's how I see it. I'd rather do the hard work so they can just wake up in the morning and walk into whatever sport they need to and being like, okay, I'm good. Like, I can feel comfortable. I feel confident" [at 1:51].

She added,

"Simone or Dominique Dodge, Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka, whoever it is, they've already done that work for them. I'm in her life right now. When you see yourself in somebody else and somebody else can see themselves in you, like, I think it only makes you feel, wow, like, I've done something in this world."

Osaka is likely to kick off her 2025 season with the ASB Classic in Auckland.
