Naomi Osaka is all set to drop yet another surprise ahead of the Australian Open 2025. The four-time Grand Slam champion showed off her pair of Nike shoes, confidently claiming that she has one of the best gear on tour.
The Japanese WTA star's journey with the multi-billion dollar brand Nike began in 2019. It was the same year when Osaka won her fifth career title at the China Open, defeating tough rivals such as Jessica Pegula and Bianca Andreescu. The collaboration between Nike and Osaka is reportedly valued at a massive $10 million per year.
Currently making waves at the ASB Classic by reaching her first semifinals since 2022, Naomi Osaka recently showcased her Nike shoes on Instagram. On January 3, the Japanese posted a picture of her stylish gear and wrote:
"I take pride in knowing that I constantly have the best shoes in tennis," Osaka wrote.
Currently priced at $160 on Nike's official website, Osaka's 2025 gear features the Nike GP Challenge 1 "Osaka". The shoes are equipped with Air Zoom units and side-to-side stability to allow more flexibility as can be seen in the 27-year-old's current form.
Along with the Nike gear, the four-time Grand Slam winner also offered fans a glimpse of her outfit at the Sky Tower ahead of the ASB Classic.
Naomi Osaka showcases her outfit ahead of the ASB Classic 2024
Naomi Osaka forced fans to the edge of their seats by securing her spot in the semi-finals at the ASB Classic by defeating Hailey Baptiste after being a set down.
A week ago, Osaka took to Instagram and posted images of her outfit right before her first campaign of the season. She was seen in a white jacket paired with a trendy t-shirt and a black skirt.
Despite facing injuries and early setbacks in 2024, the start of this new season appears to have given the Japanese a renewed sense of hope. Talking to the media after her win against Hailey Baptiste, Osaka reflected on her game and said:
“I think the key focuses that I had were just to have a lot of belief and confidence in myself," she said, after taking down America's Hailey Baptiste in the quarterfinals.
“I think I put a lot of work in throughout last year, and even though the results didn’t show it, I think I'm just continuing to, I guess, try as hard as I can and see where it gets me," Osaka added.
It is just a matter of two more wins for Naomi Osaka to end her ongoing title drought from 2021.
