Naomi Osaka's boyfriend Cordae announces dates for release of third studio album

Naomi Osaka's boyfriend, Cordae, has announced the release date for his third studio album, The Crossroads, which is set to drop in November. The American rapper and Osaka have been dating since 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Shai, in 2023.

Cordae, who is signed to Atlantic Records, released his debut studio album, The Lost Boy, in 2019, followed by his second album, From a Bird's Eye View, three years later in 2022. Throughout his musical career, he has collaborated with notable artists such as Eminem, Stevie Wonder, Gunna, Chance the Rapper, and many others.

On Wednesday, Cordae shared a retro-themed video on his Instagram feed to promote the album. In the caption, he announced that The Crossroads will be released on November 15, 2024, and mentioned that the pre-save link is available in his bio.

“My 3rd body of work “The Crossroads” drops 11/15… presave link in bio ! Let’s get it !!!” - Cordae captioned.

Since Cordae and Osaka started dating, they have supported each other in their respective careers. In an interview with GQ back in 2021, Cordae shared that Osaka often accompanies him on tour. Despite her own training commitments, she makes time to join him for up to two weeks at a time.

“She always comes on tour with me,” he said. “I don’t know if that counts as sweet or romantic. But that’s pretty tight. It’s like she’s the only girl in the crew. You know how a tour bus goes: It’s me, the band, security, the homies, tour management, lights, sound engineer. You know what I’m saying? She’ll just take time out of, you know, whatever she got going on training and things of that nature to just come with us on tour for, like, two weeks at a time,” he said.

In December 2023, Naomi Osaka shared in an interview with InStyle magazine that parenting with Cordae has been easy because of their mutual respect for each other's opinions. She noted that they discuss any disagreements, always prioritizing what's best for their daughter, Shai.

“We built a really good foundation. I don’t know if it’s because he’s just an easygoing guy, but I think we just respect each other’s opinions. And if we disagree on something, we talk it out. At the end of the day, we both want what’s best for Shai,” Naomi Osaka said

Osaka returned from a 15-month hiatus following the birth of her daughter, Shai, in January 2024. Since her return, she has played 39 matches, winning 22 of them. However, the four-time Grand Slam winner will no longer compete in 2024 due to an injury she sustained in her fourth-round match against Coco Gauff at the China Open.
