Belinda Bencic shared an adorable photo of her eight-month-old Bella sitting in a box of tennis balls. The Swiss player touched down in Sydney for the 2025 United Cup which will conclude on January 5.
In November 2023, Bencic announced she was pregnant with her first child with partner and fitness coach Martin Hromkovic. Bella, born on April 23, 2024, often accompanies her mother to tennis tournaments besides appearing in the latter's social media posts.
On Tuesday, December 30, the Tokyo Olympics singles gold medalist shared a heartwarming picture of her daughter inside a tennis ball box, watching her mother practice.
"The cutest box of balls," Bencic captioned.
Recently, she also shared a snap of little Bella's feet on the balcony of their residence in Sydney, captioning:
"Travelling the world together."
She also shared a couple of shots of the Bondi beach below the place they were staying.
Looking forward to the 2025 Australian Open, the 27-year-old talked about taking things slow and returning to the court without feeling pressured (via ESPN):
"The whole comeback went much faster than I anticipated and expected. It's great. I didn't rush things. I was super careful with starting again. I didn't really want to put time pressure on my comeback. I just wanted to see how it goes every day. I think I was ready. There's no point in practicing more. It's boring, right? It's better to play competitive matches."
Before the United Cup 2025, Belinda Bencic played in the Billie Jean King Cup in 2024, helping Switzerland defeat Serbia by winning her singles match against Lola Radivojevic.
Belinda Bencic talked about the ways motherhood impacted her career and life
Belinda Bencic made her return to the United Cup with a victory against Chloe Pacquet. In an on-court interview, the former reflected on the changes in her life after welcoming Bella and lauded women for balancing career and motherhood.
“I didn’t expect to be back so early. I have huge respect to all the moms. What women go through, the body change is amazing. We couldn’t be happier at the moment. We’re parents now. Our lives have changed, but definitely for the better. We’re super excited with Bella. She’s here. We survived the flight to Australia.”
Mentioning how her priority has shifted toward her family, Bencic added:
"In the matches I played already think I was much calmer. I didn’t feel so much pressure I put on myself. Before tennis was all my life. I put so much pressure. Now it’s just not the most important thing. My priority is my family. I can leave a bad day at the office, on the tennis court behind. That’s something that’s changed.”
Bencic helped Switzerland win 2-1 against France in the mixed-team tournament at the 2025 United Cup on Saturday, December 28.
