Felix Auger-Aliassime recently got engaged to his Croatian girlfriend, Nina Ghaibi, on November 29, 2024, and wedding bells are on the horizon for the couple. In a lighthearted moment, the Canadian tennis star joked that he wouldn’t let his friend Frances Tiafoe give a speech at the wedding if his parents were present.
Auger-Aliassime began dating Ghaibi on March 22, 2019. She is also the cousin of Australian tennis star Ajla Tomljanovic and an accomplished equestrian. She has participated in international equestrian competitions, including the 2017 Moroccan Royal Tour.
In a recent interview shared on the United Cup's official Instagram page, Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime and Leylah Fernandez took part in a fun quiz round together. During the session, Fernandez playfully asked Auger-Aliassime a cheeky question about his future wedding.
“Felix, you recently got engaged. Which tennis player would you not let give a speech at your wedding? Who has the dirtiest secret of you?” she jokingly asked.
Auger-Aliassime chuckled as he admitted that not many people had secrets about him. However, he wasn’t entirely confident about his longtime friend, Frances Tiafoe as he might end up cracking an embarrassing joke about him right in front of his parents.
“Not many people have secrets on me but….Maybe Frances. There’s a time to not joke around, you know when the whole family is there,” the Canadian replied.
Felix Auger-Aliassime and Leylah Fernandez teamed up to represent Canada in the mixed doubles event at the 2025 United Cup. On Sunday, December 29, they faced off against the American duo of Taylor Fritz and Coco Gauff but lost 6-7(2), 5-7.
