Nick Kyrgios recently took yet another swipe at Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek amid the doping rows involving the two high-profile tennis players this season. Sinner twice tested positive for the prohibited substance clostebol earlier this year, while Swiatek tested positive for the banned substance trimetazidine (TMZ).

Both Sinner and Swiatek were handed provisional suspensions as a result of testing positive for prohibited substances. The Italian served his suspension for only a few days before quickly mounting a successful defense that saw him reinstated to the ATP Tour without major sanctions.

However, the World Anti-Doping Agency has since appealed in the Court of Arbitration of Sport against the decision to let Sinner off the hook. WADA's appeal will be heard by the CAS not before February 11, 2025.

Swiatek served a lengthier provisional suspension than Sinner, which saw the Pole miss multiple tournaments in the Asian hardcourt swing following the US Open. She later accepted a one-month ban, which takes into account the number of days she was provisionally suspended. The ban is set to end on December 4.

Nick Kyrgios, who has expressed his disapproval of the seemingly lenient punishments meted out to both players, once again had a go at Sinner and Swiatek recently, without taking their names. Kyrgios' latest remarks came in the form of a reply to an X (formerly Twitter) user.

The user suggested, rather sarcastically, that both Clostebol and TMZ should be made legal next year for "all tennis players to have a level playing field". The fan wrote,

"I would request that the @itia_tennis make Clostebol and Trimetazidine (TMZ) legal for all Tennis players to take in 2025. It's important that ALL Tennis players have a level playing field. @atptour @WTA,"

Kyrgios took notice of the post and responded, writing:

"No thanks. How about we just don’t have people cheating - and can look at themselves in the mirror and sleep knowing they’ve accomplished things without no bulls**t"

A prominent tennis insider recently called Kyrgios out over one of the Aussie's posts in the aftermath of Iga Swiatek's doping saga becoming public knowledge.

After the news of Swiatek's doping controversy triggered shockwaves in the tennis world, Nick Kyrgios took to X and suggested that elite sports professionals now have an "excuse" after testing positive for prohibited substances.

"The excuse that we can all use is that we didn’t know. Simply didn’t know. Professionals at the highest level of sport can now just say 'we didn’t know'"

Tennis insider Gill Gross though, didn't see eye-to-eye with Kyrgios, and later dismissed the Australian's take as "probably false". Gross wrote on X,

"This claim is probably false. Iga said she didn’t know upon 1st appeal of the provisional suspension and was rejected (rightly so). Under WADA code, 'I don’t know' equals guilt. Those who avoid punishment do so precisely because they say 'I DO know, here’s what happened',"

Nick Kyrgios had previously called for a two-year ban to be handed out to Jannik Sinner for the Italian's two positive test results.
