Danielle Collins has explained why Iga Swiatek's accidental doping has not caused her any additional worries, which has drawn strong reactions from tennis fans. In September 2024, Swiatek tested positive for trimetazidine (TMZ) from a contaminated melatonin supplement and received a one-month doping suspension from the ITIA.

Emma Raducanu recently admitted that she avoided using an antiseptic spray after being bitten by ants and instead opted to "tough it out" for fear that it might lead to a positive doping test after Swiatek and Jannik Sinner's controversies. However, Collins made it clear that she hasn't been plagued by the same worries despite the Pole's ordeal.

Speaking in her pre-tournament press conference at the 2025 Australian Open, Danielle Collins disclosed that she placed her trust in the strict third-party testing at manufacturing facilities. The World No. 11 also emphasized that if players procured their supplements from reputable brands and got them tested, there should be no cause for worry.

"I feel like with all the third-party testing that they are doing now and making sure that a lot of those factories where they're producing these products, they're pretty stringent on what can be made in those facilities. So it hasn't been something that I have been fearful of," Collins said.
"I only take supplements that have NSF for sports certification or informed choice," she added. "I feel like if you can get your supplements from trustworthy brands and get them approved, there shouldn't really be an issue."

Given that Danielle Collins recently reignited her feud with Iga Swiatek by doling out a cold handshake to the Pole at the United Cup, fans perceived the American's remarks as a veiled dig at Swiatek for not using a "trustworthy" brand.

With Nick Kyrgios making waves for his relentless attacks on Jannik Sinner over the World No. 1's doping row, several fans drew comparisons between him and Collins.

"Nick Kyrgios and Danielle Collins are meant for each other," one fan posted.
"The one sided beefs between Collins and Iga, and NK and Jannik, are hilarious. 😭😭😭," another fan chimed in.
"Her & Kyrgios should get together and have some equally stupid children 😍," said another.

One fan even accused Danielle Collins of "xenophobia" for seemingly suggesting that the Polish brands used by Iga Swiatek were unreliable.

"Accidental contamination happens. Suggestion that she is in the clear because her brands are ‘trustworthy’ is so grim. She’s essentially said that the Polish brands Iga uses are not trustworthy. That’s xenophobia. That’s worse than accidental contamination," one fan commented.
"I really dislike this woman with all my soul. Just a nasty Karen," a fan remarked.
"She’s literally this meme… nobody cares," another fan wrote.
