Nick Kyrgios launched yet another attack on Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek after his opening-round loss at the 2025 Brisbane International. The Aussie has vehemently opposed the verdicts of Sinner and Swiatek's doping cases.

Kyrgios made his highly anticipated return to tennis at the Brisbane International after over a year due to various injuries. He kicked off the event with a win in doubles alongside Novak Djokovic following which he faced the rising star Perrricard in singles. After a brutal battle of serves, it was the Frenchman who clinched the high-octane thriller 7-6(2), (4)6-7, 7-6(3).

Due to his incessant comments on the two aforementioned cases, many users on social media have opposed the manner in which Nick Kyrgios has expressed his disapproval. A user mocked the Aussie after his defeat on X (formerly Twitter),

"Nick Kyrgios getting 7-6 6-7 7-6-ed off the court by a server 10 years younger than him."

However, Kyrgios responded by taking a jibe at Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek.

"😂 still haven’t failed no drug tests tho," he responded.

The tennis world was sent into a frenzy when it was announced that Jannik Sinner had tested positive for the banned substance Clostebool during the Indian Wells Masters. Following the heavy news, it was then revealed a few months later that Iga Swiatek had tested positive for the banned substance Trimetazidine in August.

However, the ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency), after much investigation, decided that the two players bore 'No Significant Fault or Negligence'.

Kyrgios' incessant attacks on the two players haven't sat well with a majority of tennis fans who have launched a petition demanding the ATP to take action against the 29-year-old.

During a pre-tournament press conference ahead of his campaign, Nick Kyrgios clarified that his fight against the verdicts of Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek didn't stem from any personal issue but rather a desire to have a fair treatment for everyone.

"Okay, he's No. 1 in the world, he is an amazing tennis player. I never said he's not. I just think the treatment has to be fair for everyone. Two world No. 1s both getting done for doping is disgusting for our sport. It's a horrible look. Yeah, the tennis integrity right now, and everyone knows it, but no one wants to speak about it, it's awful. It's actually awful. And it's not okay."

The Aussie added,

"I know that people don't like when I just speak out about things, be honest about things. For a kid that grew up playing tennis, I enjoyed the competition, I enjoyed playing. I can get emotional, I can throw a racquet, but that's nothing compared to cheating and taking performance-enhancing drug performance-enhancing drugs. That's ridiculous in my opinion."

Nick Kyrgios' defeat doesn't mean that his time in Brisbane has come to an end. His run in doubles will continue in the second round where he and Djokovic will play the top seeds Nikola Metkic and Michael Venus.

It is also worth noting that Kyrgios showed some signs of discomfort on his recovering wrist during his match against Perricard.
