Nick Kyrgios was over the moon as popular Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey rocked the Aussie's racket. He also joked about how the 54-year-old actor had finally broken the strings of his racket.

Kyrgios, who has been out of action for quite a while due to various injuries, has been gearing himself up for his highly anticipated return next year. Though he may not have been active on the court, the Aussie still tries to keep in touch with his fans through his social media, where he keeps them up to date with his life.

The 29-year-old recently shared a picture on his Instagram story of Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey using the Aussie's racket. Kyrgios uses the Yonex EZONE 98.

McConaughey's love for tennis is no secret and he has often been seen in the crowd at Flushing Meadows and celebrated with Novak Djokovic after the Serb won the 2023 US Open.

The Interstellar star had broken the strings of his racket, which Nick Krygios mentioned. He also said how it was 'goals' to see an actor of McConaughey's caliber use his racket.

“The big fella finally broke the stings!!! Goals one of the GOAT actors using my racket,” Kyrgios wrote.

Kyrgios also lashed out at a fan, who mocked the Aussie on Instagram after defeating him in the video game Fortnite. This irked the tennis star, who reshared the story and called the fan a dumb a**.

On the tennis side of things, Kyrgios is looking to add a Grand Slam title to his tennis resume once he returns.

In a recent conversation with Code Sports, Nick Kyrgios said that he wanted to return to tennis despite achieving loads of accolades in his career, including his Grand Slam triumph, which came at the 2022 Australian Open in men's doubles alongside Thanasi Kokkinakis.

“I am coming back because something is keeping me around the game. I have beaten pretty much every person that has been put in front of me, made a final of a Grand Slam, won a doubles title in a Grand Slam, won multiple titles and made money," Nick Kyrgios said.

He then boldly stated that he was eyeing a Grand Slam triumph in singles and his resolve to win the coveted Major stemmed from his urge to silence his haters.

“But I think the one thing that is now on my target is a Grand Slam. I think that will be the only thing that will shut people up at the end of the day. That’ll be my deep motivation," he added.

The closest Nick Kyrgios came to winning a Major was at the 2022 Wimbledon championships where he lost to Novak Djokovic in the finals.

In the same interview, Kyrgios mentioned how he was viewed as a 'murderer' and a 'bad boy' when he burst onto the scene, which he felt wasn't the case anymore.
