Nick Kyrgios has fulfilled his lifelong dream by releasing a junior tennis racquet. Kyrgios has partnered with sports equipment giant Yonex in the exercise.
Yonex signed Kyrgios when he was 16 years old. They upgraded the Australian's contract following his win over Rafael Nadal in the fourth round of Wimbledon 2014.
In 2020, Yonex partnered with Kyrgios' NK Foundation to make bracelets from recycled tennis racquet strings. The money raised was used towards building sports facilities in Australia to enable kids to play the sports they love.
The 27-year-old's latest collaboration with the Japanese brand is the creation of a signature junior tennis racquet. Kyrgios has released junior racquets named 'KYRGIOS Jr 17', 'KYRGIOS Jr 19' and 'KYRGIOS Jr 21', and they are also available in different sizes - 23 and 25-inch racquets.
Kyrgios' manager Daniel Horsefall took to his Instagram stories to share an image of the Yonex racquet, which also features an autograph of the Australian star.
"Not baddddddd @k1ngkyrg1os @thisisevolve @yonex_tennis"
Kyrgios reposted the story and expressed his gratitude for fulfilling a life-long dream. He also used his platform to try and motivate young tennis fans to keep believing in their dreams.
"Lets go!!! My dream to make a junior racket, keep believing youngins" Kyrgios captioned the post.
