Nick Kyrgios turned up the fashion quotient at the practice courts of the Australian Open 2025 as he arrived wearing an Anthony Edwards jersey, once again showcasing his love for the NBA and basketball.

This is the second time in a week that Kyrgios has donned an NBA-themed outfit after a Boston Celtics t-shirt in his earlier practice session on Thursday.

Known for his flair on and off the court, Kyrgios posted pictures from his training session on Instagram, giving a shoutout to basketball star Edwards, a shooting guard with a whopping net worth of $40 million. Edwards plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA, who boast a net worth of $3.1 billion (as per Forbes).

Referring to Edward’s nickname of ‘Ant-Man”, Kyrgios captioned his Instagram story “Had to bring the Ant man today” with a cold-face emoji.

Nick Kyrgios is a massive fan of the NBA and is often seen wearing basketball jerseys on the tennis court. Moreover, he has a large tattoo that runs through his left arm with images of the late Kobe Bryant, the legendary LeBron James and a pair of Jordan sneakers as a tribute to the great Michael Jordan.

Nick Kyrgios battling “against all odds”

Nick Kyrgios’ fitness ahead of the Australian Open has been a major source of concern. The Australian pulled out of an exhibition match against Novak Djokovic scheduled for this week due to an abdominal strain.

Kyrgios is playing his first Grand Slam in nearly two years as he’s suffered a string of injuries, the biggest of which was a wrist injury that ruled him out for 18 months. After successfully undergoing surgery, Kyrgios played at the Brisbane International last week but required medical attention on the court.

Despite the setbacks and repeated injuries, Kyrgios has displayed incredible grit and dedication to fight his way back to the court. He posted a picture on Instagram suggesting his warrior spirit with the caption “Against all odds…… shhh.”

Though the speculation regarding his fitness continues, Nick Kyrgios told a press conference on Friday that he fully intends to compete at the year’s first Grand Slam. He enters the Australian Open 2025 with a protected ranking of 21 and will begin his campaign on January 13 against Jacob Fearnley in the first round.
