Nick Kyrgios this week seemingly continued his attack on players in the middle of doping controvesies. There have been two high-profile failed dope tests this year, Jannik Sinner's and Iga Swiatek's. Kyrgios has over the past few months continually expressed his disapproval of the verdict in the former's doping case.

The tennis world was shaken when it was revealed that Sinner had tested positive for Clostebol, a banned substance, during the 2024 Indian Wells Masters. However, after the Italian argued that the consumption was accidental and the International Tennis Integrity Agency deemed the amount not performance-enhancing, Sinner was cleared to play without any ban.

This news didn't sit well with many within the tennis fraternity, one of whom is Nick Kyrgios. The Australian has been vocal in his criticism and has since borne the brunt of many for his continuous attacks. During his latest appearance on the podcast "Nothing Major," hosted by Jack Sock, Sam Querrey, Steve Johnson, and John Isner, the Aussie was asked if he was enjoying playing the role of a "villain of the tour."

Nick Kyrgios responded,

"I haven't failed any drug tests. Once you get caught, you can’t act like the victim."

In a recent interview with Esquire, Jannik Sinner opened up about the struggles he went through after his doping controversy came to light, He said how he was unable to confide in anyone and always worried about what others were thinking of him.

Sinner said,

“It was a tough time. I couldn’t talk to anyone about it. I couldn’t vent or get help. All the people who knew me and watched me play understood that there was something wrong with me. I had sleepless nights, because even if you are certain of your innocence, you know that these things are complex. Everyone immediately told the truth and that allowed me to play.
"And even afterwards, my feeling with people was fearful. I went into training at the Cincinnati clubhouse and thought, ‘How are they looking at me? What do they really think of me?’ I realized who my real friends are.”

Soon after this was shared via a post on X (formerly Twitter), Nick Kyrgios responded,

"Yes. You tested for steroids. Very hard to talk to other people who aren’t."

During a recent Q&A session on Instagram, Kyrgios also quipped how he would have at least had a two-year suspension had he tested positive for Clostebol.
