Nick Kyrgios shared a four-word message to tease his appearance in an upcoming interview. Originally, the sneak peek was shared by the Australian's girlfriend, Costeen Hatzi.
Kyrgios and Hatzi met by chance in 2021. The Australian was on the lookout for a mirror to purchase at the time, and as it turned out, Hatzi was selling one that he found perfect for his requirements. Their first meeting was all about Kyrgios and Hatzi finalizing the purchase. However, they kept meeting and eventually began dating.
In January 2022, Hatzi confirmed that the pair was, indeed, in a relationship, via an Instagram post. Since then, she and Nick Kyrgios have frequently appeared together, with Hatzi eventually becoming an integral part of the Australian's team and regularly featuring in his box, cheering the mercurial tennis talent on.
Recently, Costeen Hatzi took to her Instagram Stories and shared a picture of Kyrgios giving an interview surrounded by lights and cameras in a studio setup. The 2022 Wimbledon Championships finalist shared the post as an Instagram Story of his own and captioned it:
"Heavy is the head"
Kyrgios, having spent almost the entirety of 2023 and 2024 on the sidelines with injury and subsequent surgery, is on the cusp of returning to competitive action for the 2025 season. The Australian is set to make his comeback at the 2025 Brisbane International, where he has entered the main draw with his protected ranking of 21.
Earlier this year, Kyrgios laid bare how he is motivated to break his singles Grand Slam duck upon his return to tennis.
"The only thing that will shut people up" - Nick Kyrgios' "deep motivation" to win singles Major title after comeback
In October this year, Nick Kyrgios told Code Sports about his desire to finally end his long wait for a singles Grand Slam title once he makes his comeback. Over the years, the Australian has been lauded for his wealth of talent, but at the same time, many also consider him a player who never lived up to his potential.
"I am coming back because something is keeping me around the game. I have beaten pretty much every person that has been put in front of me, made a final of a Grand Slam, won a doubles title in a Grand Slam, won multiple titles and made money," Kyrgios said.
"But I think the one thing that is now on my target is a Grand Slam. I think that will be the only thing that will shut people up at the end of the day. That’ll be my deep motivation," he added.
Nick Kyrgios has tasted Grand Slam success in doubles though, with his men's doubles triumph alongside compatriot and close friend Thanasi Kokkiknakis at the 2022 Australian Open.
