Nick Kyrgios recently teased tennis fans with hints of an "exciting" announcement involving Novak Djokovic, leaving many curious about what’s to come. The Aussie also shared his thoughts on his plans involving basketball pro Jayson Tatum.

Kyrgios is preparing for his long-awaited comeback after recovering from knee, foot, and wrist injuries that sidelined him for nearly two years. In the meantime, he's been enjoying his favorite NBA games and keeping fans entertained on Twitter with his hot takes on the latest tennis gossip.

On December 10, the Aussie held a Q&A session on Instagram to pass the time. When a fan asked him about Djokovic, he responded with intrigue, writing:

"Absolute legend - could have some exciting news soon. GOAT."

Kyrgios replied to another question about which athlete from another sport he would choose as a doubles partner. Without hesitation, he picked Tatum, who plays for his favorite NBA team, the Boston Celtics. He also named Tatum one of his favorite players, alongside Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.

"Haha, I would love to play some tennis with @jaytatum0. But I don't know if he plays," the former Wimbledon finalist wrote.

Nick Kyrgios recently credited Novak Djokovic for inspiring his return to tennis after nearly two years away. Speaking on The AO Show, he revealed that a practice session with the Serb at Wimbledon earlier this year was a key moment that motivated him to make his comeback.

"I was hitting with Novak and when he said to me, ‘It doesn’t look like you’ve had surgery.' That was a big motivation to say like maybe I’m actually making some inroads and some progress into getting back because I didn’t really know," the Aussie said.
"That was a big drive for me... so, if he didn’t say that, I don’t know if I would have been motivated and if I would have kept pushing on the thought, but that was definitely a big part of the journey when he said that to me," he added.

Kyrgios is set to return to action at the Brisbane International, starting on December 30, as a warm-up for the Australian Open. The 29-year-old will also compete in the Melbourne Slam, entering with a protected ranking of No. 21, as he aims for his first singles Grand Slam title.
