Australian powerhouse Nick Kyrgios, who is currently eyeing a comeback to the courts, reacted recently to Hailey Welch, who is the subject of a viral internet sensation, and is also known as the "Hawk Tuah girl". She made a grand appearance during a boxing event. Hailey rose to internet fame during a man-on-the-street interview with the creators of Tim & Dee TV, with her clip then being widely circulated on the internet.

Kyrgios is known for his outspoken personality on and off the court. Whether it's celebrating a major victory or criticizing the umpires or even his own play, the 2022 Wimbledon finalist has never shied away from expressing his feelings.

Hailey has been enjoying a sudden rise to stardom since the clip went viral and recently attended a boxing event. Her entrance for the boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Perry was shared via a video on X (formerly Twitter).

Kyrgios replied to this, making clear his thoughts:

" No correlation between fame and actually being decent at something anymore," he wrote.

Since June 2023, Kyrgios hasn't participated in any competitive play. He was sidelined by a series of ailments to his knee, foot, and wrist. The 2022 US Open was the last time the Australian was seen participating in a Grand Slam before being plagued by injuries. The 29-year-old was recently heard doing commentary during Wimbledon 2024 even as he continues on his road to recovery.

Nick Kyrgios recently shared the strategies he might use to get the better of Carlos Alcaraz, on Instagram. The World No. 3 recently clinched his second Wimbledon title by beating Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the final. The Spaniard now holds 4 Grand Slam titles at just 21 years of age.

Kyrgios detailed the strategies he would use against Alcaraz through an Instagram story:

"You need to out-serve him. I would serve how I serve, and would try and break his rhythm as much as possible, hit return and come in, dropshots, 2 first-serves, completely take the racket out of his hands, he is incredible when front running. Talent and creativity comes out - just ideas," Said Kyrgios

Kyrgios was commentating during the finals of Wimbledon and had predicted that the Spaniard would retain his title by beating Djokovic. The Australian went ahead to term Alcaraz's victory a 'changing of the guard'.
