"No f**king way to normalize or sanewash this" - Martina Navratilova appalled by Donald Trump seemingly freezing during Michigan rally

Martina Navratilova expressed her shock at former US President Donald Trump apparently freezing for around 16 minutes during a recent rally in Michigan. Navratilova suggested that Trump needs to seek help and that such behavior cannot be made to pass as normal.

On Friday, October 18, Donald Trump took the stage at a Republican rally in Detroit, Michigan. Michigan is widely regarded as a key battleground state for both the former president and the current vice president Kamala Harris in this year's US presidential elections.

While the 78-year-old started his speech, at one point, the sound system at the venue experienced technical issues and stopped working. It took the technicians approximately 16 minutes to fix the problems. During these 16 minutes, Trump wandered around the stage and paced left and right.

However, on X (formerly Twitter), several users wrongly perceived the incident. One user shared a brief video of the incident and claimed that Trump had frozen. Martina Navratilova, a former World No. 1, took notice of the video and reshared it, writing:

"There is no F**KING way to normalize or sanewash this stuff. I mean this man needs some serious help… but the sycophants- shame on them all"

Navratilova is a staunch critic of Trump and his followers. On October 15, the 18-time singles Major winner hit out at those supporting Trump for a highly controversial act performed by them during the former US President's boat parade.

Donald Trump led a Republican boat parade in Jupiter, Florida on Sunday, October 13. Trump's boat was joined by several others. However, one of the boats to join the parade stirred controversy after cameras captured it flying a Nazi flag. The former US president's supporters on the boat could also be reportedly heard chanting "Heil Trump!", a play on the notorious 'Heil Hitler' chant from Nazi Germany.

It didn't take long for the photos and videos of the boat to circulate on social media. Martina Navratilova, upon noticing them, wrote on X:

"These a**h**es are so proud."

Previously, Martina Navratilova also slammed Donald Trump over his claims that he would protect women in the US. According to the former World No. 1, "Women need to be left the heck alone". Navratilova also spoke up about the physical and emotional abuse that men inflict on women.
