Novak Djokovic and John McEnroe are set to team up to take on the team of Carlos Alcaraz and Andre Agassi for an exhibition match during the 2024 US Open fan week. The match is slated to be held on August 21, Wednesday.

The US Open Fan Week will take place from August 19 to August 25, before the main event begins on the 26th. During the event, access to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center grounds will be accessible to the public for free, however, few events will require a paid ticket or a free Fan Access Pass.

The event on the 21st is named 'The Stars of the Open' and features a lineup of tennis superstars from the past like John McEnroe, Andre Agassi, Juan Martin Del Potro, Gabriela Sabatini, and Andy Roddick, as well as current stars like Novak Djokovic, Venus Williams, Carlos Alcaraz, Caroline Wozniacki, Jessica Pegula, and Frances Tiafoe.

Agassi took to his Instagram to announce a blockbuster match for the 'Stars of the Open' event in his story.

Seven-time Grand Slam champion John McEnroe will team up with reigning US Open champion and 24-time Major champion Novak Djokovic to take on the team of eight-time Major champion Andre Agassi and four-time US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz in a men's doubles match.

While Carlos Alcaraz has had a phenomenal form in the 2024 season, Novak Djokovic has struggled for a major part of the season. However, the Serb stepped up his level at the Paris Olympics and clinched the elusive gold by defeating Alcaraz.

Heading into the 2024 US Open, the 37-year-old has decided to sit out the Cincinnati Masters, where he was the defending champion, whereas Alcaraz, who lost to him in the final, is in the second round. The two men produced ATP's match of the year in the final of the Masters 1000 in three hours and 49 minutes, where the 24-time Major champion prevailed.

The Serb will be looking to win an unprecedented 25th Grand Slam at the US Open, whereas Carlos Alcaraz will look to complete the calendar Surface Slam (winning at least one Major on each surface in a calendar year).
