Novak Djokovic recently added a new modification to his popular violin celebration, dedicated to his daughter, after clinching his 20th consecutive win over Gael Monfils at the Brisbane International. The Serb added a saxophone celebration to please his son Stefan.

Djokovic unveiled the violin celebration at Wimbledon this year after his third-round win against Alexei Popyrin. After the celebration garnered huge attention from the tennis fraternity, the Serb revealed that it was dedicated to his seven-year-old daughter Tara, who had taken a liking to the violin.

The 37-year-old kicked off his season with a routine 6-3, 6-3 win against Rinky Hijikata and followed it up with another 6-3, 6-3 against Monfils to make his way into the quarterfinals of the Brisbane International. During the celebrations, he did his signature violin celebration but added a never-before-seen saxophone celebration with it. He revealed what it meant during the post-match interview.

"My children told me to have two different kinds of celebrations," Djokovic said.
"My daughter told me to keep going with the violin if I win. My son told me to play the saxophone, so I try and incorporate both. It is the first time for me to have my family down under. It is a long trip but they have come to support me and we are spending a lot of quality time together off court. My heart is full and it allows me to play my best tennis."

The top seed seems to be in fine shape at the start of the season itself with two comfortable wins at the Brisbane International.

Novak Djokovic will face Reilly Opelka in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Brisbane International, in what will be the first match between the two men.

Opelka has been struggling with a wrist injury which hasn't allowed him to compete at the highest level for the past few years. However, the American has had a fine start to the 2025 season in Brisbane. He kicked things off with a strong 7-5, 6-4 win against Federico Gomez following which he clinched a 7-6(9), 7-6(4) win against Matteo Arnaldi in the second round.

The winner of the match will play either Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard or Jakub Mensik in the semifinals.

Djokovic also played doubles at the 250 event alongside Nick Kyrgios but the duo were eliminated in the second round by top seeds Nikola Metkic and Michael Venus.
