Former player-turned-analyst Andrea Petkovic recently predicted that Novak Djokovic will focus on triumphing at the Australian Open and Wimbledon next year. The German believes that the Serb will go above and beyond to win at least 25 Major titles before he draws a curtain on his career.

Djokovic has been tied with Margaret Court at a record 24 Major titles since 2023. This year, he was eager to go past the Aussie's tally but failed to win a single Grand Slam tournament.

In that context, former World No. 9 Andrea Petkovic and Serena Williams' former coach, Rennae Stubbs, discussed the 37-year-old's prospects for the next season. Petkovic insisted that the Serb will likely "put everything into winning" either the Australian Open or Wimbledon.

"So my prediction for Novak next year is that...he will not give a flying F about any of the tournaments except the Australian Open and Wimbledon," Andrea Petkovic said during the Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast (27:14). "And he will make a huge push with everything he still got left in that cute 40-year-old body of his. Will put everything into winning one of these, try to get to 25, and then get out."

Djokovic reached the semifinals of the Australian Open and the championship match at Wimbledon, where he lost to Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, respectively.

During the interaction, Rennae Stubbs also heaped rich praise on Novak Djokovic for his career success at the Australian Open while pondering whether he can seal his 11th title Down Under.

"Back to him winning the Australian Open. Obviously we know that's the tournament he plays his best tennis at," Rennae Stubbs said (26:03). "He's won that 10 times, which is outrageous! The fact that he's won 10 Australian Open's is just mind boggling. Can he win 11?"

Djokovic has come a long way since playing in Melbourne for the first-ever time in 2005. The Serb has won 10 Australian Open titles (2008, 2011-13, 2015-16, 2019-21, 2023) and achieved an unassailable 91% win rate at the event. Moreover, he has a 20-1 record in the semifinal and final stages, with his lone loss in the last two rounds having come to Jannik Sinner last year.

Currently, the 37-year-old is ranked 7th in the ATP rankings, which means he can still draw top players like Sinner and Alcaraz before the semifinals of the 2025 Australian Open.
