Djokovic is seeded seventh at the Australian Open and started his campaign by defeating wild card Nishesh Basavareddy 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in just short of three hours in the first round to advance to the second round. Reacting to his post, 24-time Grand Slam champion's wife Jelena took to social media and commented a red heart emoji.

Novak Djokovic began his 2025 season at the Brisbane International, where he reached the quarterfinals. He was the top seed and he defeated Australian wild card Rinky Hijikata 6-3, 6-3, and Gael Monfils 6-3, 6-3 in the first two rounds before succumbing to Reilly Opelka 6-7(6), 3-6 in the quarterfinals.
Additionally, the Serb participated in the doubles event alongside Nick Kyrgios. The duo received a wild card entry to the tournament and managed to defeat Alexander Erler and Andreas Mies 6-4, 6-7(4), [10-8] in the first round before falling to the top-seeded pair of Nikola Mektic and Michael Venus 2-6, 6-3, [8-10] in the second round.
