Novak Djokovic's wife, Jelena expressed her love and support for him after he first round match at the 2025 Australian Open. The Serb will be aiming to secure his 11th Melbourne Major and 25th Grand Slam title overall

Djokovic is seeded seventh at the Australian Open and started his campaign by defeating wild card Nishesh Basavareddy 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in just short of three hours in the first round to advance to the second round. Following his triumph, he took to social media to share a series of images from the match

“Great to be back in Melbourne 🫶🏼 . Well played, @nishesh05, impressive slam debut 👏 . Onwards to R2… 🇦🇺 🦘 💪 ," he captioned his Instagram post.

Reacting to his post, 24-time Grand Slam champion's wife Jelena took to social media and commented a red heart emoji.

Novak Djokovic began his 2025 season at the Brisbane International, where he reached the quarterfinals. He was the top seed and he defeated Australian wild card Rinky Hijikata 6-3, 6-3, and Gael Monfils 6-3, 6-3 in the first two rounds before succumbing to Reilly Opelka 6-7(6), 3-6 in the quarterfinals.

Additionally, the Serb participated in the doubles event alongside Nick Kyrgios. The duo received a wild card entry to the tournament and managed to defeat Alexander Erler and Andreas Mies 6-4, 6-7(4), [10-8] in the first round before falling to the top-seeded pair of Nikola Mektic and Michael Venus 2-6, 6-3, [8-10] in the second round.

Novak Djokovic will take on qualifier Jaime Faria in the second round of the 2025 Australian Open. This will mark their first meeting on the ATP Tour

Faria secured his place in the main draw of the Melbourne Major by defeating Gijs Brouwer 6-4, 6-3, Dane Sweeny 6-2, 6-2, and Mark Lajal 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in the qualifying rounds. In the main draw, the Portuguese emerged victorious over Pavel Kotov with a score of 6-1, 6-1, 7-5 in the first round to earn a spot in the second round where he will face the former World No.1.

Speaking about facing the 24-time Grand Slam champion in the second round of the Australian Open, Jaime Faria said:

“I expect a tough match, of course. Playing against the Greatest of all Time (G.O.A.T) will be a unique experience. In the best conditions for him. It will be 'fun'. I have to enjoy it but also go in with a cool head, knowing that I have my chances and I will give my best.
