Novak Djokovic made waves once again at the Australian Open, this time by refusing to give an interview after his win at the 2025 edition. On Sunday, the Serb beat Jiri Lehecka in straight sets at the Melbourne Major, and stormed away immeditately without staying for an on-court interview.

Djokovic, playing his second tournament of the year after a semifinal at the Brisbane International, scored a 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(4) win against the Czech teenager in the fourth round. With that, he has set up a dream quarterfinal at the event against four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz.

As is tradition, fans expected the World No. 7 to share his thoughts on the upcoming match and his experience on Sunday after the win. However, when Jim Courier approached him to speak, Djokovic did something very strange.

The former World No. 1, after cordially greeting Courier, took the mic, dropped a short message to the Rod Laver Arena fans, and immediately walked out, making for bizarre scenes to end the night at the Australian Open.

"Thank you very much for being here tonight. I appreciate your presence and support. I will see you in the next round," Djokovic said in his message.

Looking to the future, Novak Djokovic's quarterfinal clash vs Carlos Alcaraz is one of the most highly-anticipated matches at the Australian Open this year. Alcaraz, the No. 3 seed, has lost only one set at the tournament so far, compared to Djokovic's two.

In the fourth round, Alcaraz had an even easier time than the Serb, with Jack Draper retiring after two sets. The head-to-head between Djokovic and Alcaraz is now 4-3 in favor of the Serb.

Their most recent clash went to the 37-year-old, with him winning in a three-set thriller at the Paris Olympics. However, they will be meeting on Tuesday for the very first time at the Australian Open.

In Grand Slams, Alcaraz leads the World No. 7 2-1, having won twice at Wimbledon and losing their battle at the French Open in 2023. The winner of the match will take on either Alexander Zverev or Tommy Paul in the semifinals. Meanwhile, World No. 1 and defending champion Jannik Sinner is in line to reach the final from the top half of the draw, with America's Ben Shelton presenting the biggest challenge to him for him.
