Jannik Sinner's decimation of home favorite Alex de Minaur in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Australian Open had fans reacting to the one-sided nature of their rivalry. The Italian has extended his lead to a massive 10-0 lead in their head-to-head record.

When de Minaur made it to his maiden quarterfinals, he said he'd have to do something different in order to trouble the defending champion. However, Sinner kept his cool and comfortably decimated the home favorite 6-3, 6-2, 6-1 in just an hour and 48 minutes. What's more impressive is that the 23-year-old has won all of the last 20 sets contested between them.

Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to give their opinion on de Minaur's performance. One fan dubbed his performance as one of the worst ever by a Top 10 player at a Major.

"Alex de Minaur performance is one of the worst ever performances that I've seen from a Top 10 player in a Grand Slam. Sinner is playing decent but not spectacular and is making errors but Alex seems to have frozen in front of his home crowd and can't even rally with Sinner," the fan said.

Another fan said how third seed Carlos Alcaraz faced elimination by Novak Djokovic in a thriller while de Minaur's loss was one-sided.

"We really sacrificed Carlos Alcaraz on the other side of the draw for Alex de Minaur to lose a boring ass QF 6-3 6-2 6-1 F**K AO," the irked fan stated.

Here are some other reactions from fans with one using Ben Shelton's popular interview where he joked about how a player is labeled as the 'daddy' of another player he has beaten three consecutive times.

"Jannik sinner has officially adopted alex de minaur. 10-0," a fan quipped by using a chess reference.
"De Minaur didn’t target Sinner’s backhand enough and made poor tactical choices," a fan opined.
"Jannik sinner is alex de minaur's great-great-great-great grandaddy omg," a fan joked.
"Alex de Minaur is way too simple/traditional as a player to even put a dent in Jannie Sinner. You can’t out-Sinner Sinner. He’s a machine. Rune had the right idea. He stepped off the baseline, played heavy topspin, and increased the contact points to above Jannik’s shoulders," a fan remarked.

In one instance, De Minaur even replied to one similar negative comment and hit back at the criticism.

A notable Novak Djokovic superfan named Pavvy G dubbed Alex de Mianur's performance as 'awful' and opined that the Aussie possessed no self-belief.

"Alex De Minaur has zero self belief that he can even compete with Sinner let alone beat him. Awful performance from him," the Djkovic superfan said.

However, the 25-year-old quipped how it was unfortunate that the Djokovic superfan never got a chance to play Jannik Sinner.

"Hey mate it’s a shame that you never became a good enough player to experience playing Jannik. I’m sure you would’ve put up a better performance and know exactly how to beat him. Wishing you all the best!!!" De Minaur responded.

After defeating de Minaur, Jannik Sinner will take on Ben Shelton in the semifinals of the 2025 Australian Open. The American defeated Lorenzo Sonego in four sets to reach his second Grand Slam semifinals.

The Italian has a 4-1 lead in their head-to-head.
