Ons Jabeur eyes 'The Notebook' inspired photoshoot if she wins Charleston Open title

Ons Jabeur shared her desire for a 'The Notebook' inspired photoshoot in the event of her winning the 2023 Charleston Open title.

Following early exits at the Sunshine Double on her comeback from injury, Jabeur commenced her clay court campaign at the WTA 500 Charleston Open. She recorded a dominant straight-sets victory over Lesia Tsurenko to begin the campaign for her first title in 2023.

After the match, Jabeur praised the crowd in Charleston and highlighted the effects of playing in such a welcoming atmosphere. She stated her belief that being happy and enjoying the game is essential for her to perform at her best.

"The energy they give me on the court is very important and interacting with them after a game or before is very useful for me. As long as I have a smile on my face, laugh with them and really enjoy being on the court, that's when I play my best," Jabeur said in her post-match interview.

The 28-year-old admitted that she sometimes forgets to have fun during matches and has to remind herself to enjoy the experience.

"Sometimes I forget to do that, unfortunately. I try to remember that it's just a tennis match and I'm supposed to have fun because my game is fun. I love fans. I see it as a show, so enjoy the show,” she added.

The World No. 5 then expressed her desire for her winner's photocall to take place in one of the locations from the movie 'The Notebook' as she eyed a title victory in Charleston.

"If I win this year, I want to take my picture in one of those places from the movie 'The Notebook'," she said.

'The Notebook' was filmed mostly in South Carolina, with the majority of the film's plot taking place in and around Seabrook Island, which is 20 miles southwest of Charleston.

Ons Jabeur attributed her title victory at the WTA 1000 Madrid Open in 2022 to her run to the finals in Charleston. She highlighted her positive mindset regarding bad situations as she held the belief that something good would come out of them eventually.

"I just believe. Don't hate when something bad happens to you because something good will probably happen to you later. And that's what happened after the last year here. It all started in Charleston ,” she said.

Jabeur will take on Caroline Dolehide in the third round of the 2023 Charleston Open. Dolehide defeated Linda Fruhvitrova in a challenging three-set encounter to book a clash with the Tunisian.
