Ons Jabeur recently reacted to the American wildcard Caroline Dolehide executing a dropshot, a move that Jabeur is known for, against her at the 2023 Charleston Open.
On Thursday, April 6, second seed Jabeur secured her spot in the quarter-finals of the American WTA 250 event for the second consecutive year. She achieved this feat by defeating Dolehide 6-3, 7-5 in one hour and 21 minutes in the third round.
Dolehide took to social media to share a video of herself executing a perfect dropshot against her Tunisian opponent during their match.
"Drop shotting the drop shot 👑," Dolehide captioned the video.
Ons Jabeur shared the same video on her Instagram story and hilariously remarked that Dolehide was still in the process of learning.
"You're learning," Jabeur captioned her Instagram post.
Ons Jabeur wants to do 'The Notebook' inspired photoshoot if she wins Charleston Open title
Ons Jabeur has expressed her aspirations for a photoshoot inspired by the romantic drama film 'The Notebook', in the event of her winning the Charleston Open title.
The World No. 5 kicked off her clay court campaign with a commanding straight-sets win against Lesia Tsurenko. Following the match, Jabeur expressed her appreciation for the Charleston crowd and emphasized the positive impact of playing in such a welcoming environment.
"The energy they give me on the court is very important and interacting with them after a game or before is very useful for me. As long as I have a smile on my face, laugh with them and really enjoy being on the court, that's when I play my best," Jabeur said in her post-match interview.
The 28-year-old admitted that she sometimes forgets to have fun during matches and has to remind herself to enjoy the experience.
"Sometimes I forget to do that, unfortunately. I try to remember that it's just a tennis match and I'm supposed to have fun because my game is fun. I love fans. I see it as a show, so enjoy the show,” she added.
Jabuer also expressed her desire for her winner's photocall to take place in one of the locations from the movie 'The Notebook' as she eyed a title victory in Charleston.
"If I win this year, I want to take my picture in one of those places from the movie 'The Notebook'," she said.
"The Notebook" was predominantly filmed in South Carolina, with the majority of the film's plot unfolding in and around the picturesque Seabrook Island, located 20 miles southwest of Charleston.
