Barbora Krejcikova added another Grand Slam to her tally by winning the 2024 Wimbledon Championships on Saturday, July 13, following her victory at the French Open in 2021. The Czech's exploits at SW19 have left the tennis world in awe.

Krejcikova had a tough draw at the Grasscourt Major but overcame every challenge. She defeated Veronika Kudermetova, Katie Volynets, Jessica Bouzas (W/O), Danielle Collins, Jelena Ostapenko, and 2022 tournament champion Elena Rybakina to set up a clash with No. 7 seed Jasmine Paolini in the final.

Despite facing challenges earlier in the season, including illness and a back injury, Krejcikova looked formidable against Paolini, easily taking the first set. Although the Italian bounced back to win the next set, she ultimately couldn't keep her momentum. The 31st seed triumphed with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 victory in an hour and 56 minutes.

Tennis fans were impressed by Barbora Krejcikova's performance and took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their appreciation, with one writing:

"I was pretty confident Krejčíková was never winning a slam again. So there goes my outstanding prediction. Out of absolutely nowhere, as it usually is with her."
"Wimbledon in better hands than Vondrousova," another wrote.

One account posted:

"Unbelievable. She’s deserves that after how hard she fought the whole tournament. Not just physically but mentally. Lots of moments she could’ve crumbled."

Tennis players also weighed in to congratulate Krejcikova, with Billie Jean King tweeting:

"Congratulations to @BKrejcikova on on her second Grand Slam women's singles title!"
"Across all 3 disciplines, singles doubles and mixed, 12-1 now in major finals! @BKrejcikova," Pam Shriver wrote.

Meanwhile, Daria Saville posted:

"Hahahaha!!! Happy to help! Congrats @BKrejcikova."

During her victory speech after defeating Jasmine Paolini to win the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, Barbora Krejcikova expressed that she was struggling to wrap her head around what had just happened, calling it the "best day" of her career and life.

"It’s unreal what just happened," Krejcikova said. "It’s definitely the best day of my tennis career and also the best day of my life. It’s super difficult to explain what I’m feeling right now."

The Czech then discussed her hard-fought three-set win against Veronika Kudermetova at the opening round of the London Major, adding:

"I think nobody is going to believe it. I still cannot believe it. Two weeks ago when I started here, I had a very tough first match, three hours and 15 minutes, winning 7-5 in the third set."
"I wasn’t really in good shape before that because I was injured and ill, I didn’t really have a good beginning of the season. It’s unbelievable now I’m standing here and I’m a Wimbledon winner. How did that happen? I have no idea," she continued.

Krejcikova also has two Wimbledon doubles titles, having triumphed in 2018 and 2022, partnering with her compatriot Katerina Siniakova both times.
