Victoria Azarenka enjoyed a pre-season training session in Florida on Sunday, December 8, signaling her focus for the upcoming 2025 season. The Belarusian tennis star, a two-time Australian Open champion, has her sights set on another strong campaign in Melbourne as her name appears on the tournament's entry list.
Azarenka gave fans a glimpse of her preseason training by sharing a lighthearted Instagram Reel from her practice session. In the video, she delivered some powerful shots on the Florida court while maintaining a playful vibe, declaring that having "a little bit of fun" is essential.
The video begins with Azarenka joking about wearing engagement rings on the middle finger:
"Imagine you get engaged with the middle finger... That should be the one, just the middle finger... Stick it out," she quipped while acting it out.
In the video, she is also heard saying:
"Pain the a**... I'm super talented"
She captioned the video:
"If you’re not having at least a little bit of fun, you’re not doing it right 🤷🏼♀️"
Victoria Azarenka, a two-time Grand Slam champion (Australian Open 2012, 2013), has struggled to replicate her early success. Her last Grand Slam final appearance came at the 2020 US Open, where she lost her third final at the tournament.
Since re-entering the top 10 in 2016, Azarenka has hovered around the world’s top 20, finishing 2024 ranked No. 20, just slightly up from No. 23 at the season’s start. Over the past few years, she has consistently been a strong competitor but has not managed a huge breakthrough, underscoring her prolonged battle to regain elite status.
Victoria Azarenka hilariously calls her fitness coach Franco Herraro "unprofessional"
A few days ago, Victoria Azarenka shared an Instagram Story hilariously implying that her fitness coach France Herraro was "unprofessional." In a video shared by the Belarusian, her coach Herraro, who has worked with the likes of Tommy Paul and Reilly Opelka, is heard saying 'come on' enthustically as she chuckled.
"For the first time in my 20+ professional career I'm arriving to practice before a coach @pf.francoherarro. I don't know if I'm more professional or Franco is unprofessional," she captioned the Story.
Azarenka began her 2024 season strong, reaching multiple quarterfinals and a semifinal in Miami. Despite her consistency, she was unable to secure a final this year. The 35-year-old concluded her campaign with a solid 30-15 win-loss record. Looking ahead to 2025, Azarenka is expected to kick off her season at the Brisbane International.
