Paula Badosa predicted her boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas would be the biggest winner on the men's side in the 2025 season. Interestingly, many of the Spaniard's rivals thought that Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner would continue their rampant run of clinching titles.
The WTA recently shot a fun video featuring Badoa, Aryna Sabalenka, Ons Jabeur, Mirra Andreeva, Emma Navarro, and Anna Kalinskaya, where the women were asked to drop their predictions for the 2025 season. During the session, they were asked to predict the male who would win the most titles this season.
Paula Badosa, without any hesitation, adorably picked her boyfriend Stefanos Tsistipas.
"Ah Stefanos Tsitsipas (laughs)," she said (at 2:10)
However, by choosing the Greek, the Spaniard went against the noticeable trend of answers. While Ons Jabeur and Emma Navarro predicted World No. 1 Jannik Sinner to reign supreme in 2025 as well,
"Maybe Sinner. He’s in a good shape and he’s playingg very well. I predict he wins the US Open," Jabeur said.
"I’m gonna go Sinner. He’s tough to beat," Navarro said.
Mirra Andreeva felt that Sinner and his rival Carlos Alcaraz were the best possible answers at the moment.
"Obviously, I wanna say Sinner and Alcaraz because, well, that’s kind of the basics right now in tennis."
World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka said:
"If he is healthy, Alcaraz."
Maria Sakkari recently teased Stefanos Tsitsipas about his engagement to Paula Badosa
The offseason in 2024 saw a plethora of tennis players announcing their engagements. Among them were the likes of Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter, Casper Ruud, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Alexei Popyrin, and Marton Fucsovics.
During a recent segment, posted on the United Cup's social media, Stefanos Tsitispas and Maria Sakkari were asked who among them would would get engaged first. When Tsitsipas pointed to Sakkari, the 29-year-old responded was hilariously baffled and teased him about his possible plan to propose to Paula Badosa.
Tsitsipas: "I think Maria."
Sakkari: ""Hey, No, you, for sure. Nah, come on! You just don't say yourself because she will expect it."
Tsitsipas: "That's smart from me, actually."
Sakkari: "So then you just throw the ball to me?"
Tsitsipas: "Easier that way."
Sakkari: "It has been very intense this off-season with the engagements."
Tsitsipas: "It has been. I've been paying attention."
Both Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa have had disappointing starts to their 2025 season. While Team Greece exited from the United Cup in the group stages, Badosa lost to Elina Avanesyan in the opening round of the Brisbane International.
