"Gym time with @janabadosa🩷 "
The tennis player also reshared her sister's story in which she grooves to Akon's beats ahead of her WTL match.
"Best warmup @akon," she wrote.
Badosa had to cut her 2024 season short as she sustained an injury while competing at the Ningbo Open. The Spaniard reached the semifinals but had to withdraw against Daria Kasatkina after the first set. She decided to take a medical timeout and eventually declared retirement from the match, giving her contender the win with a score of 6-4.
Paula Badosa on feeling like a second mom to her sister
Paula Badosa opened up about looking after her sister, Jana, in an interview with the WTA in 2023:
“My younger sister, she’s 15 years old. Her name is Jana. We have a 10-year difference. I’m her older sister but as I say, at the same time, I always felt like I had to like, be her second mom. I protect her so much, especially the role I’m playing with her right now, financially, I’m helping her. Her dream was always to come here to the US, to study, to learn English.
Her maturity is growing so fast thanks to that. So I’m very proud of her. She’s the most important person in my life. She knows I would do anything for her and I just want her to have an opportunity to do whatever she wants, her dream. I had my opportunity to make my dream come true, so I just want that for her.”
The Badosa sisters usually practice tennis together, with Paula coaching her younger sister.
