Iga Swiatek will take on either lucky loser Eva Lys or Jaqueline Cristian in the fourth round of the 2025 Australian Open. Swiatek and Lys have only met once before on the WTA Tour, during the second round of the 2022 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, where Swiatek emerged victorious with a score of 6-1, 6-1. She then went on to defeat Aryna Sabalenka 6-2, 6-2 in the final to claim the title

At the 2025 Melbourne Major, Eva Lys secured wins against qualifier Kimberly Birrell with a score of 6-2, 6-2, and Varvara Gracheva with a score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 in the first two rounds before advancing to the third round.

On the other hand, Iga Swiatek has never competed against Jaqueline Cristian on the WTA Tour. Their potential fourth-round match at the Australian Open will mark the first time the two players face each other.
