Marketa Vondrousova and her new boyfriend, Andrew Paulson, are spending time together during the off-season and embracing the holiday spirit. The couple recently took part in pre-Christmas festivities back home.

Vondrousova has been out of action on the WTA Tour since July due to injuries and is eyeing a return to the court next season. In the meantime, the former Wimbledon champion has been enjoying off-court aspects of life and recently attended festivities leading up to Christmas.

The Czech took to Instagram to share an image from her night out with her new boyfriend, Andrew Paulson. The couple is seen in the streets rejoicing in Christmas decorations and posing for a photograph with a Christmas tree in the background.

Marketa Vondrousova announced her relationship with Andrew Paulson to the public in mid-November after ending her two-year-long marriage to Stepan Simek. Vondrousova and Simek filed for divorce in April 2024, with the former stating that their relationship "didn't work out" for them. Simek went viral on social media after cheering on Vondrousova from the player's box during her Wimbledon title run in 2023.

Andrew Paulson is also a professional tennis player. The 23-year-old achieved his highest ranking of World No. 123 in doubles and mainly competes in the Challenger circuit. He was last seen on the Challenger tour at the Szczecin Open in Poland in September.

Marketa Vondrousova ended a season in the top 10 of the WTA ranking (World No. 7) for the first time in her career in 2023 on the back of her Wimbledon triumph. However, she failed to maintain her level in 2024 and endured a significant drop in her ranking due to a string of upset losses and an injury-forced hiatus.

She began the year with a first-round exit at the Australian Open. Her first big result of 2024 came at the WTA 500 Stuttgart Open, where she reached the semifinals. This was followed by a quarterfinal run at Roland Garros. In the grasscourt swing, the Czech fell in the first hurdle during her title defense at Wimbledon after suffering an upset loss to Jessica Bouzas Maniero.

Vondrousova's season ended with that Wimbledon loss as she suffered a shoulder injury that forced her to miss the Paris Olympics, the US Open, and the Asian swing. As a result, her ranking dropped 32 spots to World No. 39.
