Novak Djokovic celebrated his maiden gold medal at the Olympic Games with his family. The picture of him hugging his daughter, Tara, while shedding a tear, has now gone viral.

Djokovic won the gold medal, defeating Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(3), 7-6(2). This was the first Olympic gold of his career, helping him complete the career Golden Slam.

His family, including his wife Jelena, son Stefan, and daughter Tara were present with him throughout his campaign in Paris. At Wimbledon 2024, the Serb spoke to Tennis Channel about how great it was to have his family supporting him at tournaments. He said he was happy to have them be a part of his journey as his kids, Stefan and Tara, have started to understand the ins and outs of tennis.

“It’s incredible to have them with me. And get them to be part of this journey, and have them at the age that they understand what is going on,” he said.

Novak Djokovic is over the moon after winning the gold medal for Serbia in men's tennis at the Paris Olympics. During the on-court interview after his gold medal match, the Serb spoke about his delight at winning the gold medal for his country and completing the career Golden Slam.

"The possibility to fight for a gold and to win a gold for the first time in my career for my country is arguably the biggest success I ever had. I’m super grateful for the blessing to win a historic gold medal for my country, to complete the Golden Slam, to complete all the records,” he said.

The Serb added that winning the gold medal at the age of thirty-seven was unprecedented, as he became the oldest gold medalist at the Games in the sport.

“Of course, I want everything there is to win in my individual career, but winning Davis Cup and particularly the golden medal at an Olympic Games for Serbia at the age of thirty-seven is unprecedented."

Novak Djokovic's next challenge could be at the 2024 Cincinnati Masters. He was scheduled to play at the 2024 National Bank Open, but decided to withdraw from the tournament.
