Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, recently showed off his dad-fit in a mirror selfie. The couple has two daughters: Olympia, who is seven, and Adira-River, who is one year and three months old.

Ohanian and Williams first met in 2015 in Rome, where she was competing at the Italian Open, and Ohanian, then a co-founder of Reddit, was attending a tech conference. The couple later married in a star-studded ceremony in New Orleans in 2017.

On Monday, Ohanian, known for sharing moments with his daughters online, posted a mirror selfie showing off his dad-fit: an ash-colored hoodie, shorts, a face cap, and red trainers on his Instagram story. In the caption, he wrote, "Ready to Dad."

Over the years, Alexis Ohanian has been a strong advocate for paternity leave, which allows fathers time off to bond with their newborns. After the birth of Olympia, the Reddit co-founder took 16 weeks of leave.

In a 2019 New York Times essay, he shared how spending that time with Olympia as a newborn boosted his confidence in parenting. With no prior experience with babies, he acknowledged that he had never even held one before his daughter was born.

“Spending a big chunk of time with Olympia when she was a newborn gave me confidence that I could figure this whole parenting thing out,” he explained. “As an only child with no cousins, I didn’t grow up around babies; in fact, I had never held one until my daughter was born.”

He added that tasks like changing diapers, feeding, or doing Olympia’s hair are just part of being a dad in his home. He dislikes when people call fathers spending time with their kids "babysitting."

“Two years later, there is no stigma in our house about me changing diapers, feeding Olympia, doing her hair or anything else I might need to do in a pinch. They’re all just dad things (not “babysitter” things — I hate it when people refer to dads spending time with their kids as babysitting),” Ohanian said.

In September 2022, Serena Williams told Vogue that she loved being pregnant and worked up until the day she went to the hospital, despite complications afterward. She also shared that she was two months pregnant when she won the 2017 Australian Open.

"I was one of those annoying women who adored being pregnant and was working until the day I had to report to the hospital — although things got super complicated on the other side. And I almost did do the impossible: A lot of people don't realize that I was two months pregnant when I won the Australian Open in 2017. But I'm turning 41 this month, and something's got to give," Serena Williams said.

The 2017 Australian Open was Serena Williams' 23rd and final Grand Slam title. During the tournament, she defeated Belinda Bencic, Lucie Šafářová, Nicole Gibbs, Barbora Strýcová, Johanna Konta, and Mirjana Lučić-Baroni before outclassing her sister Venus Williams in the final to claim the title.
