Paula Badosa and Katie Boulter were impressed by Emma Raducanu's victory over Jessica Pegula which propelled her to the quarterfinals of the 2024 Rothesay International. This was the first time the Brit had defeated a top-10 opponent.

Raducanu decided to skip the French Open this year to focus on the grass court swing. This decision has paid off, as the former World No.10 kicked off the grass court swing at the 2024 Nottingham Open with a strong semifinal run before falling to third seed and eventual champion Katie Boulter in a thrilling match that ended 7-6(13), 3-6, 4-6.

Currently, Emma Raducanu is competing at the Rothesay International after receiving a wildcard entry into the main draw. She began her campaign at the WTA 500 grass court tournament by defeating Sloane Stephens 6-4, 6-0 in the first round.

The former World No.10 then went on to secure a hard-fought victory over second seed Jessica Pegula, winning 4-6, 7-6(6), 7-5 in a match that lasted two hours and 44 minutes to advance to the quarterfinals.

Following her win over Pegula, Emma Raducanu took to social media to share a series of pictures from the match.

"Blank canvas 🖌️ 🎨 🖼️ ," Raducanu captioned her Instagram post.

This victory impressed Paula Badosa and her compatriot Katie Boulter who praised the Brit for her performance.

"Queeeeeen 🔥 ," Boulter commented.
"Emmita emmita 😍 ," Badosa wrote.

During the post-match on-court interview following her second-round win over Jessica Pegula at the 2024 Rothesay International, Emma Raducanu revealed that the match was "difficult" and challenging as she was facing an in-form opponent.

"It's incredibly difficult when you're playing someone who's so in-form like Jessica. She came off the back of a great run in Berlin, and no doubt she's feeling confident on the grass," Raducanu said.

Raducanu stated that she was satisfied with how she navigated through some tough situations during the match against Pegula and admitted that there were moments where she doubted her ability to overcome them. She said that defeating the World No.5 was "meaningful" to her.

"I'm really pleased with how I managed to navigate some really tough situations, and to be honest, I didn't think I'd be able to get myself out of it. I would say this match is one of the more meaningful ones to me. ... To come through, it's been really nice," she added

Emma Raducanu will be up against the sixth seed, Daria Kasatkina next in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Rothesay International.
